On occasions, those who look after elderly family or friends at home may need a short break. This might be to allow some recreation or travel, or perhaps the opportunity to attend to another responsibility.
Also, elderly people who have been hospitalised for surgery or to treat an illness
may need short term support in their recovery or convalescence.
Respite Care can be an ideal solution to these situations, and is available for up to 63 days in a financial year. Respite accommodation beyond this period requires further ACAT approval.
Entry into Respite Care facility requires documented approval from an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) as outlined in the Department of Health & Ageing website.
We can care for your relative or friend for a short time in High or Low Care accommodation. This gives your relative or friend an opportunity to mix with others, and experience our facilities and our excellent standard of care.
Respite Care is available at all of our facilities. As it is in high demand, it is advisable to make bookings. Emergency short term accommodation is offered depending on availability.
